MAKING EDUCATION PERSONAL

Don't Worry.

There is a lot to accomplish once you're on your own at the U, and sometimes you wonder if a little help can come your way. The bottom line, it can.

Faculty Fellows is a program that removes the need to wander around campus, browse through forums, and send awkward texts to find a study session, tutoring help, and a little advice on your academic - and after - career. This is where all the richness of school comes to you. In a very casual and comfortable environment that removes the boundaries of classrooms and desks, students can connect with professors, instructors, librarians, and researchers on a personal level that might be overlooked in a university setting. For once, you'll feel like you have the upper hand.

Thirty Fellows in nearly thirty venues scattered about campus each bring a certain flair to their location, and provide more than just office hours to the UA student body. Faculty Fellows take academics beyond the grade book and help Wildcats experience education through new avenues, such as hikes, cooking gourmet meals, and attending performances.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A FELLOW

Initiated in 1984, Faculty Fellows creates an increased connection between faculty and students by supporting meaningful interactions in a non-classroom setting, leading to a smooth transition from high school to university, more effective decision making, an ever-deepening love of learning and, ultimately, graduation from the University.

Fellows are nominated for service by faculty and staff and go through a selection process. Many of our Fellows are recognized for their contributions to teaching and student life at the University at both the local and national level.

The Faculty Fellows also meet monthly for lunch to connect with each other, learn more about campus resources to help them in their roles, share ideas, and help develop the direction of the program.

This nationally recognized, award-winning program impacts students' lives beyond the classroom. By encouraging a regular presence in residence halls, cultural resource centers, athletics, and Greek houses student's have the opportunity to connect with faculty on a personal level, that can be overlooked in an university setting.

The Faculty Fellows Program has a positive impact on not only student but also faculty retention. Each group reports an increased level of engagement and satisfaction with the University since participating in the program.
