The mission of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at The University of Arizona is to support the UA mission and values by delivering exemplary programs, services, resources and facilities that have a measurable and positive impact on the development and retention of students and contribute to the well being and advancement of our community.
The Freshman Fee is designed to fund programs/projects that support the Student Affairs and Enrollment Management mission and advance its goals while targeting freshman interests. Our goals in awarding programs/projects are to fund requests that are in alignment with the mission of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management and have the greatest impact on the greatest number of freshmen. We recognize that programs/projects that target smaller aspects of the freshman class can also have a great impact.
A total of approximately $120,000 will be allocated each Fiscal Year and projects are funded for one year only. Project application submissions are accepted beginning in mid-February and close in early March.
Applicants for funding should be aware that the application form requires detailed information, including:
- a 1-page description of the program or project being requested,
- a robust, itemized budget,
- a compelling demonstration of need.
Please note that Dean/Director/Department Head approval is necessary for completion.
