On November 20, university officials and community leaders came together to celebrate the groundbreaking of the "Mosaic Quarter," a state-of-the-art facility that will serve as the new home for the U of A's club hockey programs starting in 2027.

The Iceplex will offer an array of amenities, including two community rinks, a stadium rink, a full-service restaurant, general concessions, and more. The venue will have a seating capacity of 3,000, along with dedicated locker rooms for teams, and offices for coaches and staff.

In addition to hockey, the Iceplex will also host a variety of Campus Recreation activities, such as:

  • Figure skating
  • Intramural sports
  • Informal skating
